1. Could you tell us about your recent works of creation? How's Hong Kong people's feedback to the work?
Drawing a comic column "Fake Forensic Science" on a local magazine "EAST TOUCH" (started from 2004), recently just published my first collection comic book of "Fake Forensic Science". As a "neighbour of "Biu Tung Wah Jap" by atak, I think people like our works, or else we cannot continue on the same magazine for more than 2 years so far. and i think they like us because our content is 100% local and original.
2. What was your introduction into the world of creation?
The reason I started to do creation is that I want to walk a different road from other people, to do what I really want to do.
3. After your career in advertisement field, you started comic creation.
How come did you choose comic as media of your creation?
Is there any other media you are interested to do now or in the future?
I started comic creation because I like to tell stories, and commercial illustration is just not enough for that. and I always want to make movie, but involves too many parties and the production is too complicated, so the only media I can shoot my movie and tell my stories, is COMIC.
4. Who is your favorite artist?
Tezuka Osamu, best of the best.
5. What kind of events, things or moments turns to be the source of your inspiration?
Is there any event inspiring you lately?
Simply inspired by living, or little incident happened daily.
6. What would you like to share with your readers/audience through your works?
Promoting the old fashioned/ traditional way of moral and thoughts to the young people, as we are losing them.
7. You have created many cute and unique characters such as Harbour Heroes, bitbit, etc...
How do you come up with the idea of your characters? Is there any favorite one in your characters?
My favourite one is Harbour Heroes I think, for Harbour Heroes, because I live here in Hong Kong, I see those building every day, I think some interesting ideas will come out if you face the same thing every day. I am interested in local characters that already exist, like the pandas. one exception is BITBIT, at first it is a comic about INTERNET and COMPUTER WORLD, so I came up with BIT, the basic unit of digital world, and then I thought of RABBIT, thats why I use rabbit as the main character.
8. Could you choose one from your work especially you like or very impressive to you? Please tell us reason, too.
I especially like SERIOUSERIES, its a story about how a normal Hong Kong boy grows up, to become a man, facing his career, love, and life. it is sad, but true. It turned into sad mood while I drew it, and somehow showing the inner side of my heart.
9. What do you think of creative scene in Hong Kong now?
Actually I dont know, poeple always ask me this, and I just cant answer in a proper way. I think some poeple in Hong Kong are really creative, but they are poor, and cannot get respect from the industry, they deserve more.
10. What kind of works do you want to create in the future?
Is there any plan for next creation?
I want to , and I will write a longer comic story, instead of 2-paged format.
